1. Information We Collect
PujaYantra respects the privacy of its users. We collect only information that is reasonably necessary to provide our digital Puja services, process bookings, and generate accurate Panchang timings.
Depending on the features you use, this includes:
- Devotee / Yajman Name: Provided by you on the booking form, used for personalizing the ritual Sankalp recitation and issuing booking confirmations.
- Mobile Phone Number: Stored with your booking for contact and payment checkout. Automated SMS and WhatsApp reminders are not currently enabled; sharing buttons open drafts that you choose whether to send.
- Email Address: Provided to dispatch booking receipts, samagri preparation checklists, and session link access.
- Location Information (State, City, 6-digit Indian PIN Code): Used exclusively to compute local astronomical Panchang data (sunrise, sunset, Tithi, and Shubh Muhurat windows).
- Puja Selections & Booking Preferences: Selected deity, ritual type, scheduled date, and auspicious time slot.
- Order & Transaction Reference: A unique reference identifier (e.g.,
PJY-BK-XXXXXX), order amount, and payment status returned by payment gateways. - Customer Support Correspondence: Communications sent to our official support email (pujayantraofficial@gmail.com).
2. How Information Is Used
We use the collected information solely for legitimate operational and service delivery purposes:
- To configure and deliver your interactive AI-guided Puja session;
- To display and personalize devotee details within the Vedic Sankalp recitation;
- To compute localized Muhurat calculations based on your geographical district/PIN code;
- To generate and deliver your unique session access link (e.g.,
https://pujayantra.com/?booking=PJY-BK-...#ai); - To provide customer support and respond to technical or ritual inquiries;
- To prevent fraudulent bookings and maintain system stability; and
- To comply with applicable Indian accounting, taxation, and statutory requirements.
3. Payments & Financial Information
Online payments on PujaYantra are processed by authorized third-party payment gateways compliant with Reserve Bank of India (RBI) regulations.
When making a payment, your payment details (such as card details, UPI ID, or net banking authentication) are entered directly into the payment gateway's secure interface.
PujaYantra staff or support representatives will NEVER ask you for your:
- UPI PIN
- Debit or Credit Card CVV / CVC
- Net Banking Password
- One-Time Password (OTP)
4. Browser Storage & Cookies
PujaYantra is built with transparent, privacy-first web architecture:
Cookies
We use Firebase Authentication to maintain sign-in sessions and Google Analytics 4 to measure site usage. These services may use cookies and browser identifiers. Razorpay may use cookies within its secure checkout. Browser privacy settings can restrict these technologies.
Local Browser Storage (localStorage & sessionStorage)
Our website uses browser storage for preferences and sign-in persistence. Paid bookings require sign-in and are stored on our Firebase servers:
pujayantra_user_pincode(localStorage): Stores your entered 6-digit postal PIN code on your device so you do not have to retype it upon return.- Firebase Authentication storage: Keeps you signed in according to your selected session preference.
pujayantra_checkout_*(sessionStorage): Stores a random checkout request identifier to reuse the same order after a retry or page refresh in the same tab.
Clearing site data removes browser preferences and sign-in state. It does not delete your Firebase account or server-side booking and transaction records. Contact support to request access, correction, or deletion, subject to necessary transaction retention.
5. Voice Recognition & Web Speech API
The AI Pandit experience provides an optional hands-free voice control feature that allows devotees to say "ले लिया" or "Next" to advance to the next ritual step without touching their device with wet or puja-engaged hands.
- This feature is strictly optional and is disabled by default until you click the microphone button.
- Voice control uses your browser's Web Speech API (
SpeechRecognition). Depending on the browser, audio may be sent to the browser provider's speech-recognition service rather than processed entirely on your device. That provider's privacy terms apply. - PujaYantra does NOT record, transmit, store, or analyse your voice recordings on our servers.
- You can revoke microphone permission at any time via your browser address bar settings.
6. Third-Party Services & External APIs
To deliver features effectively, PujaYantra interacts with select external services:
- Postal PIN Code Lookup: When you enter a 6-digit PIN code, the site queries the public Indian Postal Directory API (
https://api.postalpincode.in) to suggest district and state names. No personal names or phone numbers are shared in this lookup. - WhatsApp Sharing: If you choose to share your booking or Muhurat link via WhatsApp, your browser initiates a standard link to
https://api.whatsapp.com/send. No automated access to your WhatsApp account occurs. - Google Firebase: Hosting, Authentication, Firestore and Cloud Functions process sign-in information, customer profiles, booking details and payment references. Hosting services also receive technical request logs.
- Razorpay: Processes checkout and payment details. PujaYantra receives order IDs, payment IDs, amounts and payment status, rather than full card credentials.
- Google Analytics 4: Measures visits, navigation and checkout events using browser identifiers and technical usage data.
7. Data Security & Retention
We implement appropriate technical measures, including standard HTTPS / TLS encryption for all website communications, to safeguard information in transit.
Booking transaction records are retained only for the duration necessary to deliver the scheduled ritual, resolve customer support inquiries, and comply with applicable statutory accounting and tax obligations in India.
8. User Rights & Choices
As a user in India, you have rights regarding your personal data:
- Access & Correction: You may request review or correction of contact information associated with a pending booking by emailing support.
- Deletion: You may request the deletion of your customer support correspondence once inquiries are resolved.
- Local Data Control: Clearing site data removes browser preferences and sign-in state. It does not delete your account or server-side bookings and payment records.
9. Children's Privacy
PujaYantra provides educational and devotional cultural content suitable for all ages. However, transactional bookings and paid services must be conducted under parent or guardian guidance. We do not knowingly collect personal information from unattended minors.
10. Updates to this Policy
PujaYantra may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory changes. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this document indicates the effective date of the latest revisions.
